Ida B. is a story about a homeschooled girl going back to school and the difficulties that caused and resulted from it. Ida B's mother contracted cancer and had to constantly go through therapy and medicine. Ida B. couldn't be taught while her mother was constanly tired, so she had to transfer to the elemetary school in the town. In addition to Ida B. having to go to school, a few lots of her family's orchard had to be sold to help the family pay for the mother's treatments. With all of the sadness and troubles being thrown onto Ida B, her heart hardened and she became cold and reclusive. Watch as Ida B. struggles through school as she learns new lessons about life.
Ida B. has one main and very large teaching that i believe that everyone can see. The story resembles a situation where life throws difficulties at you from every which way. It also shows that once some time has passed, everything will be alright.
